Thrive by Three in English

Welcome to the Thrive by 3 website

Thrive by 3 originally started out in 2017 as a research project to develop and test the effectiveness of an in service professional development model for enhancing the quality of teacher-toddler interactions. 78 Early Childhood education and Care (ECEC) centers from 7 municipalities/city parts in Norway , 187 Toddler groups, more than 1500 toddlers and their parents and 794 ECEC staff participated in the project.

The project was a collaboration between the Norwegian Business School, Oslo, Norway,  The Regional Centre for Child and Youth Mental Health and Child Welfare – Central Norway Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and  Regional Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Eastern and Southern Norway. It was funded by The Norwegian Research Council. Data collection concluded in the fall of 2020, and the research project ended in December 2021. Thrive by 3 is now continued as a model for systematic quality building with ECEC staff, in six of the seven municipalities/city parts that participated in the project.

On this website we have described the content of the Thrive ny 3 model and made some of the materials used in the project available. You can also read about the observation tool Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS; Pianta, La Paro & Hamre, 2008;2012).» The materials and the CLASS descriptions are in Norwegian only.
